Currency trading is not difficult to understand and anyone can do it with sufficient information. Information about currency trading is easily obtainable because there are many resources to which to refer for guidance in this context. Another aspect is that the ratio of profits and losses are not as prevalent in Forex trading in comparison with stock trading and some other kinds of trading.

Currency trading is done in the Forex markets. It is also referred to as Forex trading for the same reason. It is a good business especially for those who understand the financial markets. There is also less chance of loss and things are a bit more predictable in currency trading. The estimations which people make about a currency going up are generally correct in this kind of trading.

Currency trading happens in pairs. It is always between two currencies. For example a person can conduct a currency trade that involves Australian dollars and US dollars. Similarly currency trading can be between various other currencies. There is trading of major and minor currencies in the Forex markets.

Currency trading is considered among major currencies when the euro, US dollar, Australian dollar, British pound and Japanese yen are paired in the trading. The pairs like AUD and USD, USD and euro, AUD and GBP, GBP and USD are generally traded in the Forex markets. When pairs other than these are traded then that is considered minor currency trading. Some of the commonly traded minor currency pairs are GBP and JPY, AUD and NZD and AUD and euro.

Traders can trade both in minor pairs as well as major pairs depending upon their choices. The element of risk is same in cases of major and minor currencies most of the time but the profit margins are larger in major trading. Similarly when traders have to pay commissions for purchasing and selling currencies then they have to pay more in cases of major pairs because they are traded more.

There is more demand for trading in cases of major currencies. USD is the currency which is in the pair in most cases. AUD and GBP are also used most of the time. That keeps these currencies in good position most of the time. Traders make their assumptions about these currencies and most of their assumptions are true.
